National Animal Safety And Protection Month From Our Johnston Veterinarian
You love your pet, and you want to keep them safe. October is National Animal Safety And Protection Month, and our Johnston veterinarian at Rush Animal Care is celebrating this month by educating all of our pet parents about how to keep their animals safe from everyday dangers.
National Animal Safety And Protection Month is a time to check in as a pet owner and make sure you're doing everything you can to keep your pet safe. This is a great time to microchip your pet if you have not already done so. If your pet does have a microchip, check in with your microchip company to make sure that your current address and phone number are on file. Make sure that your dog's registration tags are up to date, and that their tag with your address and phone number have current information as well. It's also a good time to make sure your pet is up to date on their vaccinations, heartworm/flea/tick medicine, and that your pets are spayed/neutered.
National Animal Safety and Protection Month is celebrated by veterinarian offices, shelters, groomers, and pet supply stores across the United States. Many of these businesses run specials during the month of October to celebrate safety month. This is a great time to make sure that you're doing all you can to keep your pet safe.
Are you ready to get proactive about your pet's safety? Come in and talk to our veterinarian about spaying/neutering, pet proofing your home, or flea/tick/heartworm treatment. We're here to help. Call our Johnston office, Rush Animal Care, at 515-270-2240 to set up an appointment.
